Please join us in congratulating our Acorn Head Teacher, Betty Spano, for being the recipient of the Child Care Council of Westchester's Joey Award for 2015.
Each year since 1988, the Child Care Council presents the Joey Awards to professional care providers and community leaders who make outstanding contributions to child care and quality of life for children and working parents.
Betty is the fourth Oak Lane staff member to receive the award. It is certainly well-deserved and we are all very proud of her.
We are currently accepting applications for our 2015-16 school year. Please call us at 914-238-3756 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
for more information.
Oak Lane is a not-for-profit childcare center for children 18-months to 5 years of age.
We are proud to be featured as the Merchant of the Week by NewCastleNOW.org .
Our foremost goal is to nurture the whole child; to make each and every girl and boy feel secure, loved, and well cared for. A child’s self-esteem and ability to interact with peers and adults are of the utmost importance.
We address each child’s social, emotional, physical and cognitive needs through a well-planned, developmentally appropriate program steeped in convictions about community, preferences, equality and fairness.
The key to our preschool experience is to build an awareness of self, others and the environment. We are proud to be accredited by NAEYC, the National Association for the Education of Young Children. They have developed a website for parents called Right Choice for Kids. Please take a look! In addition, there is a video available that provides insight into the benefits of a NAEYC Accredited center.
In order to provide the best possible environment for our children, we operate under the principles of the Code of Ethical Conduct and Statement of Commitment as developed by NAEYC. If you would like to read the code, you can click here to find it at the NAEYC web site.
